It was a long process and it seemed to take forever, but we finally received an offer on our house and we were set to close on April 2nd. So that means...A Packing Party...to get everything out of the house. After a few phone calls and a Facebook invitation we were set for March 24th and 25th to get things done. Even though we have been packing up different rooms in the house and had a lot done this was still a big undertaking. The weekend before the party we hauled out a load on the goose neck to Scott's for storage. So with the help of Scott and Fred we palletized most of the garage, including the train (of course everyone has one of those!) and headed over to his house to store it there. We were feeling great that we emptied so much of the garage and shed and this was going to be easier than we thought...(It was a good theory.)
Step 1 - Find a trailer. Now you would think that would be easy. But after a few weeks of looking and a few dozen phone calls later, at the last minute (March 23rd) we found a storage trailer to rent. So on Friday, Eric and Steve started to palletize and pack some of the house. Poor Steve was so exhausted considering he had just drove straight from Atlanta, GA to make it home to help us pack. But being the good sport that he is, he hung in there.
Step 2 - Fill the trailer. Saturday morning we started the big push to get everything out of the house. We could not have done it with our friends and family. So a big THANK YOU to Jacob, Steve, Scott, Greg, Fred, Kirk, Ellie, Codie, T.J., Wanda, Jenn, Brent & Ashley! We couldn't have done it without you. After wavering back and forth from "We have plenty of room" to "We are going to run out of room"....it was official...We ran out of room in the 48 foot trailer! So we called it a day and decided to get a new plan in the morning. Saturday night was filled with a campfire and more laughs than we could handle.

On Sunday morning after a shower and some snuggling with Coleton and TJ is was time to get to work. I came across my wedding dress and the bet was made that I couldn't fit back into it...Almost 8 years later and I won the bet! Then we were back at it to try and get anything else we could to squeeze into the trailer. Then it was time to pack the fish house with anything else that we may want to use and load the camper...and of course a couple more trips to Scott's. (Thank you for the storage!) After that it was time to just rest and recoup...and then we realized we packed the bed. So it was off to Menards to grab a couple air beds and camp out in the basement where the last TV was. Our first night in the house was spent on an air bed and our last was going to be too.
