On Saturday April 21st, we packed up the camper and relocated out to the land. On Friday night Eric's parents and nephew came down to see the property and help us get set up and start working on it. Sadly, I was too busy running around and get set back up that I didn't take time to stop and get pictures. But thankfully our Mom is older and wiser than us and took video of us working...well mostly of the grandkids playing but I bet we got on camera somewhere in there. :) This is the only picture that I captured on Sunday morning after we had already went to work on clearing out the homesite.
After a busy weekend of work and of course playing, we still needed to find a generator since we won't have power for a few weeks. So it was off to Craigslist while on our way to Zimmerman to get the grader from Lawrence to grade the driveway. With alittle luck we found one and it was in Big Lake, so we ventured off through the back roads and picked it up. At the end of our long Sunday drive we were back home and had the generator running and were watching a little TV. What a good way to end the weekend.

It's Official!!!!!
After what seemed like a process that took forever, we finally signed the papers and are now the proud owners of the land!!! Eric and I first looked at this property in November of 2009 and have been wanting it ever since. After finally selling our house and getting the mound of paperwork and mortgage information in order we closed on April 18th. So now what??? Well let's go break ground of course!
But of course Dad couldn't clear anything without the advisement of the kids. Coleton is in love with the skidsteer and knows right where the horn button is, and Aubrey was excited to learn how to drive it.
We would like to welcome everyone to our soon to be new home located at:

A Survey and a Snack
On April 12th we were out on the property to have the site survey completed for building. It was really an interesting process and we were really excited to see where the corners of the house and garage were going to be. It was also nice to finally see where the corners of the property were located and just how much we were going to own.
We have been told a story that several years ago some neighborhood boys (who have since grown) were playing in the woods with matches and it sparked a fire. You can see in this picture that some of the trees still show the damage from the fire.
Changing subjects...on April 16th we enjoyed a nice dinner in the camper complete with some fresh (Florida) sweet corn. This was the first time I gave Coleton corn-on-the-cob and it was sure interesting. First he tried to eat the end of it, then once he got the hang of eating the middle he realized it was pretty good stuff. So then he wouldn't put it down and he just hugged it while he ate...you never know who may steal your corn-on-the-cob.

The Thunder Rolls...
April 15th was our first Spring thunderstorm in the camper, and if any of you have ever stayed in a camper while it is raining, even a light sprinkle sounds like a downpour. It was a pretty good storm and lasted a few hours, but in the end everything and everyone was safe and sound. However, during the storm Aubrey had to protect the shaking puppies...
...And Coleton was very concerned and cuddled with Daddy the entire time. Everytime there was thunder he would snuggle closer and point at the window and say "OoooOOOOoo"
I am just glad it was an evening thunderstorm and not a middle of the night one, or we might have had some extras in our bed. Also notice the Cozy Coupe is still indoors, but we are slowly getting better about others touching it. :)
Hippity Hop!
On Easter Sunday the Easter Bunny found us in the camper. Aubrey was a little concerned that he wasn't going to find us to hid eggs and give them their baskets. But the kids were up at 6:30 and were excited to see that the Easter Bunny had found us. After Coleton seen his sister find a couple of eggs he knew what to do and was running all over the camper finding eggs an bringing them to us.

He brought Coleton some fruit snacks, socks, a bubble gun, a Caterpillar dump truck and a remote control Caterpillar skid steer. He is very partial to that as NO ONE can touch it without a little freak out.
Later we were playing with the bubble gun and Avery was jumping up and down and running all over to try and eat all of them that he could. It was really funny and everyone was laughing so hard.
Then it was off to Easter Dinner with or extended family the Hemmerich's where we had an incredible meal, an Easter egg hunt for the kids and just a lot of fun. Aubrey loved the outside Easter egg hunt and she got a ton of candy and toys and crayons.
Coleton just loved being outside and all of the toys that he could play with.
There were even two Cozy Coupes for Coleton to play in. Our daycare takes him to Toddler Time at the YMCA sometimes and she says that he loves the Cozy Coupes and gets really mad when it is time to share. So since he spent most of the day in it at the party and as you can see below had them guarded when he wasn't around...Daddy went to town and got him is very own.
Eric couldn't put it together fast enough, Coleton was just shaking he was so excited. There is only one rule to the Cozy Coupe and it is that NO ONE TOUCHES IT...or he will freak out. The Cozy Coupe even had to come inside the camper with us!!!!

Exhausted Eggs...
On Saturday April 7th, we spent the afternoon dying Easter eggs with Papa Gregg. We had a lot of fun and we didn't even make a mess! Which is very surprising with Coleton.
But once Coleton realized what was going on and how the eggs were changing color he was even more curious. Since his arms seem about 6 feet long, Papa Gregg tied his hands together so he couldn't make a mess. He thought it was funny...for a little while.
After all that egg coloring we were exhausted so it was nap time. Eric got the joy of having to cuddle with both Jazmine and Avery...and of course as always Avery snores so loud you can't always sleep.
Later in the evening Aubrey and I even found time to make a cake to bring out to our Easter dinner with our adopted family the Hemmerichs. Maybe we will become the Ace of Camper Cakes!!!
